This bottle is one of the best backbar bottles you'll find. The National Club was a saloon in Chicago, and the partnership trademarked their whiskey, along with others over the years. When Prohibition hit in 1918, the partnership sold out to a private stock company. The new guys started bootlegging whiskey, and got got caught in a sting by the Feds in the early 1920's when they shipped a railroad car full of bootlegged whiskey. a court trial lasted several years, and the company was made an example of in prosecution.
