Fabulous Western pass. No. 380, issued to Herman Silver for the year 1889. Signed by Parker as manager. Wonderful, large vignette of stagecoach moving through the countryside. Unfortunately, this pass is damaged in that it is missing the reverse side. Based on a later pass also offered in this sale, the reverse would indicate that the pass was good on omnibus lines at Leavenworth and Lawrence, Kansas of the U. S. Stage Co. and Texas Stage Co., as well as all lines operated by the National Mail Company. The National Mail Company was organized in 1867 by James Parker and was the prime contractor for US Mail delivery west of Atchison.
