Chief doll in beautiful condition, dress in ceremonial apparel with many beads, simulated buckskin top, black felt pants many small beads (multi-color), and breast plates. The history of traditional or ceremonial dress and regalia worn by Native American Indians is important. They never wasted any part of the animal. The breast plates were made from bones of the animal. Several distinct tribes have historically occupied the Great Basin; the modern descendants of these people are still here today. They are the Western Shoshone (a sub-group of the Shoshone), the Goshute, the Ute, the Paiute (often divided into Northern, Southern, and Owens Valley), & the Washoe. Comes with Certificate of Authenticity #1933/2500. 16"w. x 31" h.
