Item #1 of 4: Very unusual Native American, pipe bowl. Appears to be soapstone, and is about 1 1/2" tall x 1 1/2" wide at the base. Carved with pipe head on an angle , so the smoke flows away from you !! 3 concave creases on each side of the base, topped by angular slash mark design. This design, allowed for easy gripping power. 2, 3/8" x 1/4" pieces missing , near pipe stem hole, most likely made that way. Very nice item, and rare. Item # 2 of 4: Very fine pipe head and stem. 7 5/8" long ( With as ash stem) , and a 2" tall pipe head. Pipe head made from Catlinite, which is only found in Pipestone, Minnesota. It is possibly a Chanupas. The people say it was given to them, by White Buffalo Calf Woman, from Wakan Tanka ( The holy being, the great mystery, and the source of all healing) . This stone is also the symbol of the blood of the ancient people and the Buffalo. Item # 3 of 4 : Same as Item # 2, but smaller in size. 5 1/2" in length( With ash stem ) , and a 1" tall pipe bowl. This specimen also has a red okra band and a blue band on it. Item # 4 of 4 : Very fine, bone whistle , in working condition( I know, I tried it !). 7" long , with 13" neck strap , tied with sinew. All of these item , from the Plains Indians, probably Oglala Lakota Sioux. All in fine condition. ( RH). City: State: Utah Date: 1900's- 1920.
