A stock certificate for one thousand shares in the Navajo Consolidated Mining Company, made out to William A. Otis & Co. in 1901. Navajo Consolidated was incorporated in Iowa in order to acquire mines in Colorado's lucrative Cripple Creek gold mining district. The certificate is signed by the company's president and secretary and bears an embossed company seal. It has an engraved vignette of a Navajo chieftain and an intricate engraved border. Red ink on yellow paper. Excellent condition, light creasing from storage. Not listed in Hills' Manual of the Cripple Creek District, 1901.
