Wooden cradle board from the Navajo tribe made from five pieces of traditionally carved cedar(?) joined together by commercially tanned leather ties. A three-inch-wide wooden lath is bent over the top to protect the baby's head. A thick wooly piece of sheepskin for wrapping the baby is held onto the frame with long leather ties laced back and forth from top to bottom. There is a 2-inch-wide band of sheepskin across the top as a headrest. This item is in excellent condition showing gentle use but very little wear and tear. Approx 36 x 11 x 14 inches. See photos for design details. Thanks to Norm DeLorme for description details.
