J. Johnson Navajo Sterling Silver Native American Mother of Pearl Cuff Bracelet with 6 stones. Rare. Vintage, Preowned in excellent condition. Weighs 21.3 grams. Please refer to pictures for specifics and as part of the description.

Silversmith is probably Johnny Johnson, the Navajo designer who made jewelry from the 1920s to the 1950s and worked at the Maisel Company in Albuquerque, NM. Maisel's opened in 1939 and is still in operation today. Many silver pieces from Maisel's are marked with the Maisel Company stamp, along with the designer's initials. This piece is marked J. Johnson, but the great similarity of the design style and craftsmanship of this piece is nearly identical to other pieces of Johnson's marked with JJ. It is possible Johnson produced this particular piece before or after his employment with Maisel's, or on his own time for additional income, and used a different mark.
