There are three photos in this lot with Edward Zane Judson AKA Ned Buntline, Buffalo Bill Cody, Texas Jack, and Pawnee Bill. A glass plate photo depicts Ned Buntline dated 1874, clear crisp good contrast 3.25 in. X 4in.. Buntline sets the stage for the next photo; a cabinet card with himself, Buffalo Bill Cody along with Texas Jack (Omohundro). This cabinet card (cut down to CDV size) would be in preparation for his written stage play "Scouts of the Prairie" opening in New York City in 1872 starring Cody himself 3 in. X 5 in. some foxing. The piece is a cheaply made (and now trimmed) promotional piece for the play. The last photo is a cabinet card of Gordon Lillie AKA Pawnee Bill the successor to Buffalo Bill Cody managing the Wild West Show 4.4 in. X 6.5 in. from Carson Ralston Studios in Philadelphia. Ned Buntline is remembered in history for providing special purpose Colt revolvers with 16 in. barrels to five lawmen: Wyatt Earp, Charles Bassett, Bat Masterson, Bill Tilghman, and Neal Brown collectively known as the Dodge City Peace Committee. These guns are known today as "Buntline Specials".
