Very rare Cuba mine in the Gold Rush era. Organized in New York. Low number 3, issued in New York in 1854 to LH Sage for 200 shares. Signed by president F. May and secretary Lord. Not cancelled. Two vignettes: smelting scene and mine hoisting scene. Folds, some toning. 6. x 11" Trimmed left border. The Neuvitas mine was located 26 miles from the town of Neuvitas. This was one of the earliest examples of US investments in Cuba.
