Lot of 2 different. 1) 1st Nevada Volunteer Cavalry, 1899 payroll document. Several pages. Reflects the payments to cavalrymen of Troop A for March and April 1899. At this time, they were in the Philippines engaging in battle. Strong folds, slight edge wear, else fine. 2) 1st Nevada Volunteer Infantry Photograph, Camp Clark, Carson City, 1898. Approx. 4x 5.5-inch image mounted on approx. 5x7-inch card. Lou Alpeter photo. Long crease with some separation to card only does not affect image, small corner tips off, some stains barely affect image, some soiling overall. Camp Clark was a short-lived U.S. Army encampment set up in August 1898 at Treadway Park on the northwest side of Carson City, Nevada, during the Spanish-American War. Named for Captain Charles Edgar Clark of the USS Oregon, it served as the mustering site for the 1st Nevada Volunteer Infantry after troops shifted from nearby Camp Sadler. The camp was abandoned by late October 1898, leaving no significant structures on the site.
