# 341 for 100 shares to J. S. McCord. (Yes, this is one of the smaller stocks that McCord purchased to gain ownership of the mine.) Issued January 3, 1907, shortly after the stock went public. Two female allegorical vignettes at borders. Striking use of black and reddish brown on white. No edge, discoloration, or corner issues. Staple holes upper center. Very nice indeed! Reverse is just as colorful. Location of Mines: Alpine City, Lone Mountain Mining District, Esmeralda County, Nevada. Company offices: Suite 406 and 407, McCormick Building, Salt Lake City, Utah. O'Meara made his name with the Mizpah Lease in Tonopah. Here he had another producer, although short lived. JS McCord began a systematic purchase of stock in this company when it went public - only weeks before this cert was purchased. Excerpts of newspaper articles tell the story of this mine and some historical background to McCord and O'Meara is included. City:Lone Mountian, Esmeralda Co. State:Nevada Date:1907
