Lot of four. 1) 1887 Ogden & San Francisco RPO to ex-Governor Blasdel at Rockland. Two stamps tell an interesting tale; "No such post office in state named" and "Returned for better direction." In the back there is a cancel for Superintendent RMS 8th Division and the Ogden & San Francisco RPO stamp. In the mean time the 'Rockland' has been lined out and 'Mason Valley' has been written in. So the cover was mailed a second time. Blasdel was Nevada's first elected Governor and an avid miner who went back to work in the mining field when he left that office. Rockland may not be a common name in Nevada, but it did have a post office in Nevada three times for a total of twelve years. There was no post office there in 1887. 2) 1909 Sparks & San Fran. 3) Ogden & Sacramento RPO. 1917 4) Ogden & S. F. W. D. RPO. 1944.
