The Nevada City Narrow Gauge Railway connected Colfax and Nevada City via Grass Valley, California, from 1876 to 1943. The famous Bear River Bridge was a 196-foot tall steel truss-deck structure built in 1908 that spanned the Bear River just southeast of Grass Valley. When completed it was the highest bridge in California. It was demolished in 1963 for the construction of a dam. There are 7 color and 2 B&W postcards in this lot.
