Lot of six documents. Most are pertaining to James Davies. 1) 1872 deed of land signed by California's eleventh governor Newton Booth. Booth went on to become a U.S. Senator. Heavy toning and rough edges, but signature is clean. 2) 1888 land deed for land sold to the same person (Elijah Tompkins) as the 1872 deed. Separation. 3) 1880 deed for James Davies of Bear Valley. 4) Two Department of the Interior Certificates of Land Register dated 1891 for James Davies (now of Marysville). Separation and toning. 5) Document listing the various patents and land transfers occurring with both people previously mentioned (Tompkins and Davies), beginning in 1872-1888, including transactions with the Central Pacific Railroad and Gold Run Ditch & Mining Company. Worthy of more research! (Prag Collection) City: Nevada County State: California Date: hwac# 34038
