Lot of 5 with background info. 1) State Controller's Warrant issued in 1880 to WR Bowen for the Arrest of Mike Owen. Owen shot and killed PS Traver in Candelaria. (Thompson & West, 1881). 2) State Controller's Warrant issued to Dr. S.L. Lee, a physician and surgeon in Carson City who took in the famous basket maker Dat-So-La-Lee. It is believed her name was from her trying to pronounce Dr. S. L. Lee. 3) Saint Ives Gold Mining & Milling Check, Goldfield, 1905, signed by Marshall Bond and Louis Bond. They were good friends to Jack London, and London based the canine protagonist of The Call of the Wild off of the Bond's dog Jack. Comes with four Jack London stamps too. 4) State Controller's Warrant issued in 1880 to Matt Kyle, prominent figure in the Fish Creek War (Italian War) of 1879, and sheriff of Eureka County.
