Lot of 4. 1) Billhead for the Nevada Drug Store, J.M. Johnson, Proprietor, Dealer in Drugs and Chemicals, Perfumes and Toilet Articles, Rubber Goods, Cigars, Flower and Garden Seeds. Dateline Carson City, Nev., Apr. 19, 1899. Billed to the B& E Bank for a hair brush. Tears on edges, creases. 2) Two 1891 Certificates of Deposit for Johnson from the Bullion & Exchange Bank. Signed by TR Hofer as cashier. Signed by Johnson on the reverse. 3) Postcard of Carson St. looking north from the Capitol Grounds. Mailed in 1909. Joseph M. Johnson came to Nevada in 1894 from Wisconsin. He purchased the Carson City Drug Store on Carson Street in 1897. The store was located opposite the Capitol Building and opened under the name "Nevada Drug Store." In 1901, he became prop. of the Thaxter Drug Store and purchased it in 1903. He sold the store to Charles Kitzmeyer and left Carson City (before 1907). [See Volume Two of the Nevada Bottle Book]
