Four pieces of Nevada paper: 1) 1880 Curtis Consolidated stock certificate, 100 shares issued to H. S. Stone, from the Gold Hill Mining district. 2) 1911 Exchequer Gold and Silver Mining Company stock certificate, 5 shares issued to Jas. Gartland, Gold Hill Mining District. 3 & 4) two unissued receipts from the Sterling Silver Mining Company of Kingston Nevada, printed by Buswell & Co., 509 Clay Street, S. F. In 1865, Kingston got a post office and a 20-stamp mill, the Sterling Mill, was erected on the hillside above the settlement, but the mines declined in just a few years and by 1869 the mills were silent and the Kingston post office closed.
