Inc. in Utah Territory. No. 562 issued for 1,000 shares to company president CH Springer on Sept. 28th, 1882 in New Bedford, Mass. Signed by Springer as president and secretary James Hitch. Not cancelled. Very ornate black border and print, no vignette. No printer listed. 5 x 10" Horizontal fold, light wear. Reported on by Hollister in "The Resources and Attractions of Utah" (1882). Hollister notes that they own the Lakawaxen claim. In 1882, they are driving a tunnel to intersect the vein at a depth of 500 ft. below outcroppings. The vein is granite and possibly part of the larger Ontario vein. John Barnes is superintendent. (pg.25). We listed an 1881 stock for this company issued to Springer. Ken Prag Collection
