Rather spectacular original New England Shaker table with six chairs with original paint. The Shaker style is defined by simplicity of style and lightness in construction. Very fragile, this set was owned by major antique collector Gertrude "Trudy" Smith of Groton, Massachusetts et al (c1901-c1979). Made with wood pegs. The collector family believes the chairs are of the 1860 period, and the table c1680, per a note with the table. 6'4" long, 3' wide, 2.5" tall. fragile. well kept and taken care of. The appraisals of this table and chairs over the years are all over the board from $1000 up, However, any appraisal dated over 1 year old is not valid, a lesson all need to learn. State: City: Date:
