"The New England Mining Company of Colorado have 900 feet on the Running Lode, a strong vein about half a mile south-east of the Bobtail. There are several shafts on the property, varying in depth from 20 to 120 feet. In the bottom of the latter shaft is a vein of ore two feet wide. There are 150 tons out On the mine is an engine-house, with engine and hoisting rig complete. The Company has a mill in Black Hawk, containing eight stamps, two pans, and a small engine. They are represented by Com. Rodney French,-of New Bedford, and have been principally engaged during the last two years in experimenting with their ores with a view to adopting the best treatment known.
