Specimen $1,000 bond. Red border, black print, and nice locomotive vignette. June 1st, 1903 dateline. Printed by ABN. Stamped Specimen across signature lines. Also hole punched. Sheet of 50 coupons attached (also punched). 15 x 10" Folds, some toning. This was a holding company that owned several railroads including the Alamogordon & Sacramento Mountain, the Alamogordo Lumber Company, the El Paso & Northeastern, the El Paso & Rhode Island, and the Dawson Railway, and also owned mining and industrial properties served by the lines. Inc. in New Jersey in 1897. Sought to exploit the Capitan coal fields in Lincoln County, New Mexico. Charles Bishop Eddy, prolific New Mexico promoter and developer, was behind this project. In 1905, its properties were transferred to Phelps Dodge and it became part of the El Paso and Southwestern.
