Cert. #596, issued for 100 shares in 1870 to Chas. Throckmorton. Signed by John McCoy as secretary and Berringham (illeg) as president. Two fabulous mining vignettes with the one at left having a miner filling an ore bucket and two above ground to haul it up. A miner's candle is stuck into the left side of the wall shining brightly. At center is another vignette of a group of miners with lights on their helmets. This company operated in El Dorado County, California. The company's lodes included the Wanderer, New England, Vanderbilt and Yosemite (worldcat.org). The certificate doesn't appear to be cancelled, although it has a signature of S. Bronson across the face. Howe & Ferry, N.Y. Rare.
