Number 266 for 500 shares to Joseph W Boyd on April 6th, 1897 in New York. Signed by treasurer Gedney(?) and vice president J Boyd. Not cancelled. Stamped seal. Green safety paper. Printed by Edward V Brokaw of New York. Seven small mining vignettes. Folds, very nice condition. While little could be found in our library concerning this company, we believe the mine was located near the city of Rossland. Rossland is a city in the West Kootenay region of British Columbia. The name comes from the name "Ross Thompson, " a miner who staked a claim in 1890. After originally trying to name the city Thompson, he changed it to Rossland. This is at the very beginning of the rush to Alaska and the Yukon. Ken Prag Collection
