Original, antique brass lock inscribed "New York Telephone Company 1897". Measures 3 1/4" tall by 2 1/4" wide. Manufactured by Wilson Bohannan Co. in Marion, Ohio. Solid brass lock very similar to locks commonly used as Railroad switch locks. Sliding key entry cover reads, "Close Lock to Take Key Out". The New York Telephone Company was formed in 1896. Extremely rare antique telephone related collectible antique lock. Key is not present. Still attached to brass shackle chain.
