This is a lot nine (9) issues of the New York Times covering the advancement of the Civil War during the months of January and February 1862. The National Flag flying over Confederate batteries is one headline; Twenty-five hundred rebels taken prisoners. There is a list of all of the Massachusetts regiment officers leaving for battle. On Feb. 17th Rebel Forces fly the black flag meaning they would neither surrender or give quarter! Evidently no winter encampment for either side. Heavy losses on both sides. All professionally mounted in excellent condition.
