Lot of over 200 newspapers from Newburyport, MA, dates 1852 - 1887. Newspapers represented are the Daily Evening Union (1852 - 1853), Newburyport Daily Herald (1878), and the Daily Evening Herald (1883 & 1887). Daily Evening Unions are in best condition, 4 pagers, 19" x 13 1/4", minimal browning, 53 issues dated Nov 2, 1852 - Jan 4, 1853 published by William Huse. Newburyport Daily Heralds are 4 pagers but torn in half lengthwise, each page 22 1/2" x 16 3/4", 52 issues dated Jan 9, 1878 - March 9, 1878, published by William H. Huse & Co.. Daily Evening Heralds from 1883 are bound by string at spine, each page 18 1/4" x 12 1/4", significant browning and tearing, pages very fragile, 70 issues dated July 9, 1883 - Oct 1, 1883, published by William H. Huse & Co.. Daily Evening Heralds from 1887 tearing apart, some pages missing, most issues 4 pagers, a few Saturday issues 8 pagers, 40 issues from April 12, 1887 - May 21, 1887, no publisher mentioned but presumed William H. Huse & Co.
