Lot of 5: Highlighted by two Vermont Chronicle newspapers, dated October 3 and November 21, 1849, one discussing Sacramento gold, the other discussing Fremont digging gold. The October article mentions digging up 1/2 ounce of gold with quote, "everywhere the mines are crowded." This collection also includes a page from the Ulster County Gazette (Kingston, NY) dated January 4, 1800; a small booklet titled Everybody's Almanac and Family Receipt Book dated 1861 published by C.M. Jackson & Co, Philadelphia; and a package of six 1883 issues of James Elverson's Golden Days for Boys and Girls, a 16-page weekly newsmagazine for children consisting of stories, activities, and lessons.
