Rare. 1881. Prospectus and By-Laws of the Newton Consolidated Mining and Milling Company. 16 pages. Printed by Longshore & Ward's Leadville Printing House. Pink cover with gold lettering. Company office located in Leadville. Mines and claims located on the Slate, Castle, and Silver Mountains in the Columbia Mining District (Pitkin County) about five miles from Ashcroft. The consolidation consists of 24 claims in four groups: Little Alice, Silver Valley, Gertrude, and Porter. Three reports from W.K. Smith (M.E. in Leadville), George Daly (Mine Manager and Expert from Ashcroft), and Henry D. Burnett (Supt. of Frisco Cons. M. C. in Utah). Assay reports at the end of booklet vary from 120-146 ozs. of silver per ton and 18-26% copper. By-laws are included. Condition: stains to cover. Light toning to pages.
