Number 1971 for 50 shares to CN Taylor. Datelined Gold Hill 1875. Signed by secretary William Henry and president William Havenor. Rare printer - Brown & Mahanny of Gold Hill. Mountainous mining vignette. Not cancelled. Incorporated July 16, 1874. Upper left corner has some minor issues. Brown and Mahanny were San Francisco printers that arrived in Virginia City in 1874. Although not the most well known they were still quite prolific (24 copied samples of their work are included). They were also editors of the Footlight Newspaper housed in the back of Brown's book store. Havenor was a Virginia & Truckee RR engineer, Comstock assayer, mining reporter, saw mill superintendent, grocery store owner, etc. All in Nevada. Most probably named for the Enterprise Editor C. C. Goodman. Pages of historical background information on the printers and Taylor.
