North Gould & Curry Gold and Silver Mining Company, Virginia Mining District. Virginia, NV - Storey County - August 26, 1881 - Incorporated in 1878. Cert. #364, issued to E.R. Grant, Trustee in 1881 for 100 shares. Signed by President B.F. Dahl and Secretary M.C. Southard. Etched vignette at left end of horse and wagon carrying ore to a mill in the mountains. Black border on pale yellow paper, with black printing. Uncancelled. Printer: Benj. Dore & Co. 4.25 x 9.75.” Datelined San Francisco. The company was part of the Gould and Curry Mining Co. that was begun in the spring of 1859 by its founders Alva Gould and Abraham Curry. The initial claim was only about 900 feet and was located between the Best & Belcher and Savage mines on the Comstock.
