Eight per cent mortgage bond. Same signatures. Issued to John Beck. Reverend John Beck (born in Eaton) a native of York, Pennsylvania was a long-time minister in the German Reformed Church. The bilingual Beck would prove useful in the Civil War, as so many of the wounded soldiers (particularly in the Eleventh Corps) spoke German.
