Published Bi Monthly by Ed Frossard of Irvington, New York. Issues from January, March, May, July and September of 1877. Articles, advertising, price lists, auction results. Fourteen years before the American Numismatic Association came into being. Four to eight pages per issue; 8 x 9 inches; loose pages. In 1875 Frossard became the first editor of J.W. Scott's Coin Collector's Journal, commuting to New York City from his Irvington-on-Hudson home. In 1877, he started in business on his own. From then until his passing in 1899, he issued Numisma (January 1877 to December 1891, comprising 59 issues), and created 160 auction catalogs.
