Three pieces of vintage numismatic correspondence: 1) 1851 handwritten letter to Henry White Esq. of New Haven, CT offering an 1840 India one rupee coin with a drawing of the piece. 2) 1903 typewritten letter from the St. Louis Stamp & Coin Co. offering a 1798 U. S. dollar for $7.50; an 1813 eight reales of Argentina for $1.75 with rubbings of both coins. 3) 1930 hand written five page letter from Fred W. Holmes of Norwich, Conn. to Mr. Carl Myers of Watkins Glen New York offering many of his coins for sale. Having collected for 38 years, Holmes has decided to collect "Red Back Fractional Currency and Commemoratives (half dollars)." He offers U. S. Large cents from 1794 to 1857; a 1799 dollar (about a proof); a 1652 Pine Tree Shilling; a fine collection of 119 half cents and many more. Interesting letter.
