Stock Certificate from the "O Be Joyful" SMC. Incorporated in Colorado. Located at Ruby Camp. Certificate number 501 issued in 1882 at Irwin, Colorado to William Lowry Hinne. Signed by James Geischman, and M. S. Bentz. Printed by W.H. Goyle, Stationer and Printer, Houston, Texas. Not cancelled. Nice condition. Torn from book roughly at right. Typograph eagle vignette. Raised seal. Located near Ruby Camp. Located on western side of the range in Gunnison County. It is a continuation of veins that are in a northwest direction. The ores are said to be similar to Ruby Camp and the veins are encouraging. In 1880 it was a rather difficult to reach and not attracting much attention. [Weekly Gazette, Colorado Springs] Irwin and Ruby Camp were the two mining camps in the Ruby Camp District in Gunnison County. A couple stereo views of the towns circa 1880-1881 are on the web.
