Large fine art brewing advertising lithograph featuring a European-style flower girl. "Blue & Gold Lager, Oakland Brewing & Malting Co. Oakland, Cal." in gilt text at lower right. Piece measures 24"x 44", is framed and ready to hang.

The Oakland Brewing and Malting Company, founded in 1907, brewed the first lager produced in Oakland: Blue and Gold Lager. C. S. Plaut was the president and general manager of the company, and Joseph Kogler served as brewmaster. The company was located at Chestnut & 26th. They operated till Dec. 1918, when they shutdown due to Prohibition and World War One related issues. They reopened to produce near-beer, but closed for good in 1919.

This is a very rare brewing company; we have not sold items from them before, including in our Art, Brewery, & Collectibles auction in 2014.
