# 1 for 149 shares to W. C. Ralston. William Ralston endorses the certificate on the reverse. Dateline Virginia, March 16, 1865. Incorporated January 1865. Signed by secretary Fred Ogden (as in name of the company). On reverse is also a signature by George T. Finn who was an attorney to the bankers Statler & Arrington. Printed by Towne & Bacon. Brown 25c Power of Att'y revenue stamp. Three vignettes: 1) eagle on a column with the words 'El Dorado', 2) Loomis signed vignette of miners with tools and of an ore card. and 3) dog's head. Left side has a 3/4" tear and some aging. Another small tear to left of shares and left side cut unevenly. The Ogden & Milson Mill was in operation by November of 1860 in the Utah Territory [Kelly, 1st Nevada Directory]. In 1864 this mill was re-named and re-structured. It is an example how William Ralston, William Sharon and the Bank of California crowd controlled Comstock mining and made millionaires of themselves.
