A February 11th, 1881 Lake City Mining Register article mentions that the company has been formed and purchased the Nellie, Ella, and Sunrise Lodes on Bear Creek. According to an article in E&MJ Vol. 30 (1880), the company stuck a vein on the McDonald claim, located near Rose's Cabin, 16 miles from Lake City, Hinsdale County.
