Here is a very early, unusual piece. This specimen, is an underground wall and hanging oil lamp combination. Hand made of iron, in the 1850's . 3 3/4" bowl with pour spout. Back handle , shaped and knocked to alter position or angle of flame. Also, 7 1/4" hanging twisted wall hook with spike. The piece in between, looks like a flattened cats face. Miners were very superstitious and figured since a cat has nine lives, they would go with that symbol . It could't hurt. Very nice crude early item. ( RH ).
