PMG certified this movie prop reprint as one of a limited edition of 1000 notes. In 1893, Mark Twain wrote "The Million Pound Note," the tale of a penniless American sailor in London who is given the use of a million pound banknote for 30 days. Since no one can change his banknote he is given instant credit everywhere and invited into high society. Twain was satirizing the shallow pretensions of English Society. The 1954 movie starred Gregory Peck featured a million pound note that was sold at auction by Sotheby's in 1989 for nearly 2000 pounds (about $3500 US).
