This is about 3/4 of a pound of coarse quartz ore with green and blue coloring of malachite and azurite ranging in size from coarse sand up to thumbnail-size clasts. The accompanying label describes this as a test run of ore from the Original Old White Leghorn Mines. Further, the label says "Recreated, now under the name [illegible] Mike Mines, The name Jones appears after more illegible text, and the town name of Hawthorne, Nevada, appears below that name. The note is written on the blank back of a Weekly Bus Transportation Pass issued by the U.S. Naval Ammunition Depot in Hawthorne, Nevada, which is dated as valid between January 7 and 13, 1946.
