Lot of four. 1) Two road agent receipts from the Oregon Stage Company, 1867. Two different datelines: Rock Point and Feusters (?) Station. One has an adhesive revenue stamp; the other is stamped Wilson Collection. 3" x 8.5" 2) Also a road agent receipt for same company, but on different paper and font. Eugene City, July 1st, 1867. $25 for one month services as agent. Adhesive revenue stamp. 3" x 8.5" 3) Check from Ladd & Tilton, bankers, Portland, Oregon, July 1st, 1868. Issued to Oregon & California Stage Co. for $1,450. Signed HW Corbett & Co. Orange adhesive revenue with tied cancel. Folds and cut cancel. In 1866, HW Corbett began a stagecoach company that ran between Sacramento and Portland. Corbett had moved to Portland in 1851. The stage ran until Oregon and California were joined by railroad in 1887. (Prag Collection)
