Original Keystone Silver Mining Co. - Comstock Ledge Virginia Mining District, Gold Hill, Storey County, NV Cert. #2609 issued to F. E. Luty, Trustee on January 30, 1884, for 11,050 shares. This is a huge amount of stock, worth $1,105,000 at the time and over $40,000,000 today. Luty was not only secretary but perhaps a major owner. Signed by F. E. Luty also acting as Secretary and by T.E. Jewell as President. Incorporated in San Francisco on Aug. 7, 1877, and capitalized at $10,000,000; 100,000 shares at $100 per. The Claim consists of 1800 feet by 600 feet. It was located November 19th, 1859, and one of the original claims on the Comstock north and adjacent to the Utah, (p. 230-31 Pacific Coast Mining Review 1878-79). Vignette of two horses rearing up, a ship and an eagle.
