The 1848 bond is issued to and signed by Vespasian Ellis as president. Also a bond issued in 1852. Vignettes at the top of a steamer with a horse drawn team in front. Granted by the Republic of Venezuela printed on the right border. The company incorporated to carry passengers and cargo from New York to Venezuela and South America. Also, vignettes in each bottom corner and a red underprint of "1000". Both are pen canceled. VF.
