Incorporated in 1878. Cert. #605, issued to William Stuart, Trustee in 1880 for 100 shares. Signed by Geo. W. Cope, president and Wm. Stuart as secretary. Yellow paper with black print. Uncancelled. Printer: Britton & Rey, S.F. Meas. 4 x 9." Datelined San Francisco. Folds, pinholes. The Oro is another of the mines located on Silver Hill in the southern portion of the Bodie belt, and just south of Bodie Bluff and High Peak, along with the Goodshaw, Addenda, Noonday and others. Burchard states: "The Oro mine, which adjoins the North Noonday on the north, has been steadily at work all the year (1881). The lowest level is at a depth of 720 feet. The vein is large, and has been found to contain chimneys of rich ore on each level below the 300-foot. Great hopes have been centered on this property, which, in the character and appearance of its ore, greatly resembles the Comstock bonanzas."
