A small 1895 poster advertising a $1000 reward for the arrest of men connected to a train robbery between the towns of Archbald and Stryker in Ohio. According to contemporary newspaper accounts of the crime, the robbers boarded the train after firing at its messenger; held the engineer, messenger, and fireman at gunpoint; and after taking $150 from the train's local safe, tried and failed to open its larger safe with dynamite charges six times before admitting defeat and running away. One newspaper claimed that after holding the messenger at gunpoint, one particularly polite robber "shook hands with [him] and apologized for putting him in so much trouble" while leaving. The poster is framed and is in excellent condition. [ Ohio
