# 125 for 83 1/3 shares to James C ox. Signed by AW Goodwin and president George Goodwin. Not cancelled. Dateline 1887 San Francisco. Incorporated 1875 (stamp). Three sailing ship vignettes. One in rough waters and one by one of the actual islands. Some spotting, cut rough, etc. The Farolloners were a group of islands (actually rocks projected from the ocean). In 1858 they were sold for back taxes. The largest being about 2 miles around with a lighthouse. "The Pacific Farallone Company are busily engaged in collecting and shipping to this city a very excellent quality of guano found on the Islands. The guano is found in crystalized lumps, and contains a large proportion of ammonia. It is found in grottos or caverns, in inexhaustible beds, and promises to prove an incomputable source of riches to the company.” [Sonoma County Journal, November 12, 1857] Prag Collection
