Dateline May 25, 1863 San Francisco. Incorporated February 5, 1863. 25c Certificate revenue stamp. Not cancelled. Location: Pacific Ledge, Middle Hill, Esmeralda Mining District. Eureka vignette of people seeing the sun rise. Also a sailing ship vignette. Small pinholes where stamp was applied. Very light fading on bottom. One corner fold. Valentine & Co. printer. The Pacific Mine was originally incorporated in 1860 in the Esmeralda Mining District in Mono County, California. On February 5, 1863 the claims were sold to San Francisco investors and the name changed to the Pacific Gold and Silver. By August 1863 the main tunnel had reached 300 feet.
