Lot of 3. 1) Edison Portland Cement Company stock certificate issued to Thomas Edison in 1899. Signed twice by Edison on the reverse (one signature very faded ink). Punch cancelling affects one signature. 2) Diamond Disc Shop Incorporated stock issued to and signed by Charles Edison as president (son of Thomas Edison). Signature is cut out. 3) Different version of Edison Portland Cement Company, 1901, not signed or issued to Edison. Thomas Edison (1847–1931) was an American inventor, entrepreneur, and one of history's most prolific innovators, holding over 1,000 patents. He developed groundbreaking technologies including the phonograph, the incandescent light bulb, and the motion picture camera. Edison's creation of the first industrial research laboratory in Menlo Park, New Jersey, revolutionized the process of invention by fostering teamwork and systematic experimentation. His work in electrical power led to the founding of the Edison Electric Light Company, which later became part of General Electric. Known as the "Wizard of Menlo Park," Edison's inventions transformed modern life and helped usher in the age of electricity and mass communication.
