Panamint City was a wild and wicked town in the early to mid 1870s, and the local paper is filled with stories of murders, suicides and crimes from in and around the area. There are also several fantastic advertisements for local restaurants, saloons, drug stores and many other common business of the day. There are also mentions of local mining. One article entitled "Another New District" talks of excitement over a possible new mining district close by. This newspaper is a treasured relic of the past for many Inyo County collectors. When opened and laid out flat, the piece measures 20" x 14" and is 4 pages. There are some creases and tears, but it is in overall fine condition.
