# 278 for 40 shares to Trenmor Coffin. Signed by secretary (?) and president AC Ellis. Dateline Carson City. Not cancelled. Location of works: Pancake Mountain, White Pine County, Nevada. The Pancake Range was a low, flat range of mountains. Various outcroppings look like a stack of pancakes. Pancake Summit is 15 miles from Little Antelope on US 50. Underground Mining vignette. Carson Appeal printer. Dateline 1877. Incorporated July 3, 1873. No pin hole, edge, corner or discoloration issues. Pristine! Trenmor Coffin was the president of the Carson City Savings Bank. AC Ellis ran for governor in 1870 and U. S. House of Representatives in 1874. In both races his stint in the Confederate Army hurt any chance he may have had. In 1875 the Virginia Evening Chronicle reported the shaft of the Pancake Coal Company was sinking a shaft as quickly as nature will allow. On October 26, 1877 this certificate was reported as delinquent in the Carson City Daily Appeal. That is half a year after it was issued.
